The quintessential photo in front of de Trevi to ensure a return to this fantastic city. I threw in some Lira a decade ago, this time we threw Eurocents. Viewing Rome for the second time in one's life is a blessing, especially with a beloved travel partner. This is a pictorial journey of our weekend.
Introduction
Brano had a conference on “Sustainable development, innovation, and talent management” in Rome. So, this provided a good reason for me to fly to this fantastic city and join him for 4 of his 7 days. This is in keeping our vow to travel more.
It sometimes seems silly to place pictures of such well-known buildings and places online. You can go to google images, buy a postcard, or look in your own family album to find similar scenes as what follows. But, there is something special about making it your “own”. I guess the Goonies had it right when they said “It’s our time. It’s our time down here”.
In many ways that is why you show pictures that are so readily available. It’s been discovered; it’s not new; yet, it is your time, your perspective, and your moment in your own life’s history. So, these are our images. They are in no way singular, but are nonetheless special to us. Perhaps this is why people take their own pictures in the first place.
Well, with that confession. Time to show some of Brano’s wonderful pictures.
